My first time working with the AMV Crew shooting Maroon 5 in 3D.

My First 3D Job

During the boom of 3D after James Cameron's first Avatar film I traveled the world with 3ality Technica shooting everything in 3D. From concerts, live sports, films and even daytime television, we shot amazing 3D for the big screen and television. It was a technological achievement to shoot something as technically demanding as proper 3D that won't hurt the audience, real-time live without any compromises.

Just chilling with my rig during the game.

Aligning a side by side rig the day before the match.

Me and this rig circled the globe showing off the potential of 3D to the world.

For this match we had two operators handing off to each other. The rig was a little bit heavier than their normal broadcast cameras.

A shot from the sidelines. It was a great match.

It was below zero in Berlin so we had to setup in this warm and cozy soundstage.

It doesn't look as cool as the TS5 but it's a workhorse.

A view from the sidelines of the Cricket Championships in Mumbai. This Game was supposed to be in Bangelore India but while we were setting up for the game there were bombings at the stadium forcing us to evacuate and hold the games in Mumbai. It turned out later that they found it was the owner of the Mumbai Stadium that was responsible for the bombs.

Doing test shoots with the directors of Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance. In only a few hours we configured the TS5 for shots on a Dolly, Wireless Handheld, Wireless Steadicam and Inverted on the front of a car as shown, and all without any major aligning of the rig. In the end they still chose to shoot 2D and convert it.
